Animal Control

The City of Hartford contracts with the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society for our animal control needs.  Their website is www.sfhumanesociety.com and phone number is 605-338-4441.   

The City of Hartford requires any dog or cat over six months of age to be licensed every year.  The license year runs one year from the date of issuance.  Current proof of vaccination is a requirement of the license.  The fees are $5 for a neutered animal and $10 for a non-neutered animal.  Licenses may be obtained online or at City Hall, 125 N. Main Avenue, Hartford.
